November AIChE Volunteer Event - St. Louis Foodbank

The November Event will be one of service and what better day than on Veterans' Day.

We are currently limited to 15 volunteers, so follow the instructions below and we hope to see you for this event.

Welcome to the St. Louis Area Foodbank! We’re excited to have you volunteer with us. Please share this with your group and ask them to follow the 2 steps below to register for your event.  Please let everyone know to sign up by November 1, 2023. We will release the open slots on November 2, 2023 to the public to ensure we have enough volunteers to complete our project for the day of your reservation.

WHAT: Repackaging and Sorting Food in our Repackaging Center

This is an indoor event. Volunteers work in our Volunteer Center sorting and packing food for distribution into our community. This can include building food boxes for senior citizens, sorting food drive donations, packaging produce into individual family size portions, etc. Please note that volunteers will be on their feet for the majority of their shift. Some volunteers may be asked to lift and/or move boxes of food weighing up to 50 lbs.

Please wear closed toe shoes and dress comfortably.

WHEN: November 11, 2023 8:00 am – 10:00 am (2 hours)

WHERE: St. Louis Area Foodbank, 70 Corporate Woods Dr., Bridgeton, MO 63044

HOW TO REGISTER: Please follow these TWO IMPORTANT STEPS

1. Please visit the St. Louis Area Foodbank VolunteerHub to create an account. You will see “Create Account” at the top right of your screen.

2. Once you have created your account, please then go to your company specific landing page, http://vhub.at/AmInstChemEng, to sign up for your event and agree to our volunteer waiver. You will need to log in (using the username and password you created in step 1), then scroll down and you will see “Sign Up” at the lower right side of your screen.

CAN’T VOLUNTEER BUT STILL WANT TO HELP? You, too, can participate by making a financial contribution here!

If you are bringing children with you under 16, please let us know so we can add them to your reservation – if there is room. If you have not pre-registered for a shift, we cannot guarantee availability due to safety regulations. Also, anyone wearing open-toed shoes will not be allowed to volunteer.
