Shrikant Dhodapkar is a Senior Fellow in Plastics and Hydrocarbons business at Dow Chemical and a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

He started his career at Dow in 1991. He has extensive industrial experience in designing & troubleshooting solids processing plants, with special expertise in pneumatic conveying, silo storage, separations, fluidization, drying, particle and powder characterization, mixing/blending, dosing, and coating technology. He is internationally recognized as the leading technology expert in the field of particle technology and solids processing. At Dow, his expertise has been critical in designing and successfully operating world scale elastomers plants, namely AFFINITYTM Polyolefin Plastomers, ENGAGE™ Polyolefin, NORDEL™ IP Elastomers, VERSIFY™ Propylene Copolymers and recently INFUSE™ Olefin Block Copolymers. These constitute over 1 billion pounds in sales, annually. He is currently focused on developing process technologies related to decarbonization and plastics circularity.

Shrikant is a recognized leader in particle technology community, having led the organization in various capacities for 12 years including as the chair of the Particle Technology Forum. He also served as the technical program chair for the World Congress on Particle Technology-5 and has been recently appointed to the AIChE Chemical Technology Operating Council. 

He is the co-author of six chapters in handbooks and has published over 40 articles on various aspects of solids processing. He is also the recipient of over 15 Dow Technology Awards which recognizes people who successfully implement innovative technology with demonstrated value in excess of $10 million. Shrikant is also a recipient of Dow’s prestigious Gulf Coast Scientists Award recognizing his sustained accomplishments in field of bulk solids handling. He is co-inventor on six patents.

Shrikant holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi (India) and earned M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
