Burcu Beykal

Dr. Burcu Beykal is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Texas A&M Energy Institute supervised by Professor Stratos Pistikopoulos. She holds a B.S. degree in Chemical & Biological Engineering from Koc University, an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University. She will be joining the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Connecticut as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2021.

Dr. Beykal’s research focuses on data analytics, hybrid modeling, and data-driven optimization for chemical, environmental, and biological systems. She received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award by the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University and was selected as a Rising Star in Chemical Engineering by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. During her Ph.D. studies, Dr. Beykal was actively involved in many student organizations, including the Texas A&M Energy Research Society, where she served as the President in 2016.
